I,Robot Cabinet
I,Robot was actually produced in cabinets that were left over from Firefox's production
run. I guess Atari overestimated the demand for Firefox, they certainly did for
I,Robot! Firefox was a less-than-popular and fantastically unreliable laserdisc
game, but its cabinet suited I,Robot well. If you look closely at an I,Robot cabinet
you will notice the bottom the the cabinet is completely empty! This is where
Firefox's LD player would have been. Also notice that black metal plate just below
the control panel, Firefox had a headphone jack with a volume control mounted
there.. Other than artwork the cabinets are exactly the same. The cabinet can
actually be taken apart fairly easily, and the "head" is simply bolted on. In
fact, the head is actually shared with another Atari game's cabinet: Major Havoc.
