SB16 cards can play and record, most are half duplex but this has nothing to do with recording sound. Forget using Soundrecorder, it only allows for a few seconds of recording, has bugger all features and only supports a few formats. Use an audio editor such as Cool Edit 2000 for recording. To set up for recording, double click on volume control in system tray, go to options/properties/recording and make sure Wave Out mix is selected. Click OK and tick Wave Out Mix. Make sure the level isn't too high or else the recorded sound will distort. Then start recording and start the game you want to record in MAME. _ -[shamus]- Replace stop with start in e-mail to reply.
