Genesis pad

The Genesis pad is really a superset of the SMS pad. It's almost identical, but adds a couple things.

9-pin female D-sub connector on the controller.

  1. /North
  2. /South
  3. /West or CLK mirror
  4. /East or CLK mirror

  7. CLK
  8. GND
  9. /C or /Start

While the console has the CLK line set high, the directions and buttons B and C are read.

When the consule pulls the CLK line low, pins 3 and 4 are pulled low by the controller to indicate to the console that a Genesis controller is attached, then buttons A and Start are read.
