NES Terminator 2 prototype cart

Another weirdo NES cart I found at the same pawn shop as the World Champ. Where the World Champ is a fully playable demo (identical to a normal release version), this one is a true prototype. It's somewhat playable, but far from complete.

The first weird thing about it is the level select screen.

As you can see, the "Target Range" level is not available for play, nor is the "Escape" level. The "Cyberdyne" level is just a mess of graphics, and is completely unplayable. There's no action at all on the "Flood Channel" level; you just ride your motorcycle with no interference from anybody. The rest of the levels are playable to the extent that you can run, jump, shoot, etc., but enemies are only affected by punching, and not all enemies are even affected by that.

This one cost me five bucks too. It's worth at least that for the salvage value of the EPROMs alone (two 27C1001's), but given what's on those EPROMs already, . . . well, it was a pretty neat find.

This cart is no longer in my possession.
