From: Rick Goodman Subject: Re: Stargate side art paint colors Date: Tuesday, November 30, 1999 9:36 AM Sean, The info people have provided so far is fairly straight-up. I have spent a fair amount of time trying to match the colors of both my Stargate and Joust sides. I've brought "chunks" of the sides to several paint stores, and found the paint "experts" to have a very hard time matching the colors. If I am not mistaken, you are probably trying to paint from scratch? If that is the case, you can use the colors listed below without a problem. I have posted formula combos for the Stargate (and Joust) several times in the past, a DejaNews search will turn them up -- those were the colors I found to be closest to my personal cab's shades. I can't recall now if anyone has put forth examples for the yellow color or not... Trying to match colors for touch-up purposes is extremely difficult for these cabs, and indeed you can get something close which will be fine from a distance, but up close under examination you will see the difference ... and cabs will vary from machine to machine, as noted. rick In article <38438012.80CB20A4@wvi.com>, DaveWT wrote: > > I saved this post a while back thinking it would be useful to me later on. > > Hope it helps you too, > Dave > > *************************** > hoke@swbell.net wrote in message > > > > I am building a Joust game and do not > > have original cabinet, I would like to make > > it as authentic as possible if someone knows > > the exact original color I would aprecitate the > > help. > > I've taken several cabinets to the local Lowe's for color matching > (You should see the looks I get wheeling games in the store). > These are Valspar color codes and names.
